I’m here and I’m excited doing a Monster EA Sports MVP Carbon Review. This time the giant headphone company Monster partners with EA for a new and awesome headphone, named the Monster MVP Carbon On Ear HeadPhones. To be true at first I thought, they were just going to be one of those high priced bad quality headsets but I was proved wrong.
Out Of The Box – Monster EA Sports MVP Carbon
First of all I have to comment on the packaging, it was extremely good. Monster went one step ahead and introduced a very Apple-like packaging with all the magnet action going on. The MVP Carbon is boxed very nicely and efficiently and includes a carrying case too ( a very nice touch ).
When you hold them the first time, you’ll immediately be hit with the fact that they are weirdly flexible. They’re so flexible and nicely built that I doubt one can break them and they look pretty awesomely sweet too. Then you have a really great carrying case too so you can easily take them anywhere and store them too ( just so you know, I hate headphones which don’t include a carrying case ).
There’s a detachable cable and microphone included too, more on that below.
Features And Design Of The MVP Carbon
For me guys, the most sweet feature was that there are 3.5 mm ports on both ear cups, meaning that a cable which has 3.5 mm connectors on both ends is included. Giving you the option to connect it to the left ear cup or the right and then into the Xbox, PS3 or any other source. I don’t know about you people but I always like the wire on the left side so now I won’t have any problem because I can just switch the cable whenever I want ( pretty cool ). Included in the box are cables necessary to connect to the Xbox or PS3, you can literally connect the headset to your console out-of-the box.
If that wasn’t cool enough the headset even includes a detachable microphone for chatting on Xbox live, you can plug the mic on any ear cup. The mic quality is excellent, no static and no background noises.
As the headphone is freakingly flexible, the headband is quite comfy too, people were able to wear it for a long time without sweaty ears or without getting uncomfortable. There is padding on the bottom side of the headband. Though the ear cups seem small but they adjust perfectly once you get used to it.
There is an EA logo on the ear cup and get this, it lights up when you’re gaming. Now whenever you’re gaming away, you can just tell your mom, girl friend or any other person that when the light is on, don’t freaking disturb. The carbon texture on the frame is really eye pleasing to say the least.
Monster EA Sports Carbon Sound
One thing that was pointed out by people was that this does an incredible job of isolating any outside noise. You literally can’t here anything on the outside and the sound is crystal clear. One hitch was that the bass levels weren’t that great and you can probably get greater bass on similarly priced units.
They’re loud, simply put, they rock. These guys make Beats by Dre, that’s how you know the audio and build quality is going to be great. Even though I tried to be unbiased as possible, the headset just rocks, it’s loud, has awesome features and can be used for other than gaming which brings me to my next point.
Compatibility – EA Sports MVP Carbon
They’re not just built for gaming, they can be used for music, movies, podcasts etc. That is really useful, often times gaming headsets are just built for gaming only and you would have to shell out extra cash for headphones to listen to music or watch movies. But not this one, they provide great sound quality when gaming as well as general audio purposes.
That’s the main selling point, instead of trying out different headsets and finding the best one, just buy an all-round headphone.
- Great features.
- Carrying case included.
- Widely compatible.
- Looks hip.
- Crystal clear audio.
- Price is fairly high.
- Bass levels not that good ( just a personal preference ).
Final Verdict On The MVP Carbon
Instead of buying different headsets for different purposes you can just buy this one and it delivers awesome sound quality and durability. I’m sure our opinion matters to you, we definitely recommend it.

A little expensive for its features. You can definitely get a gaming headset with similar features for a cheaper price but overall Monster and EA have done a good job.
